How the 2026 Worlds Swiss Stage Operates
In the Worlds Swiss Stage, every team competes against opponents with identical win-loss records. Strict rematch prevention ensures no two teams play each other more than once before playoffs.
• Round 1 (0-0): 16 teams drawn by Pool (Pool 1 vs 4, Pool 2 vs 3). 8 BO1 matches.
• Round 2: High Pool (1-0, 4 BO1s) & Low Pool (0-1, 4 BO1s).
• Fast-paced single game matchups set the trajectory for advancement brackets.
• Advancement (wins == 2): Matches leading to 3-0, 3-1, or 3-2 are automatically upgraded to BO3.
• Elimination (losses == 2): Matches facing 0-3, 1-3, or 2-3 are automatically upgraded to BO3.
• Only the mid 1-1 pool in Round 3 remains BO1.
• 3 Wins to Qualify: 3-0 (2 teams), 3-1 (3 teams), 3-2 (3 teams) lock playoff berths.
• 3 Losses = Out: Teams at 0-3, 1-3, 2-3 exit the tournament.
• Quarterfinals through Grand Final default to full BO5 series.
